We are delighted to share that the publication by our colleague Parastoo Akbarimoghaddam (Leibniz-HKI), Manuel Allwang (Jena University Hospital) and Maximilian Wipplinger (Jena University Hospital), has received the DMykG Stiftungspreis.
The study, “Human Colitis-on-Chip Model Reveals Dual Roles of Butyrate in Epithelial and Macrophage Defense Against Candida albicans Tissue Invasion”, combines organ-on-chip technology, infection biology, and bioinformatics to investigate how butyrate helps protect intestinal tissue against Candida albicans-induced inflammation and tissue damage under IBD-like conditions.
